About Me
Welcome to my e-portfolio. This page gives a brief overview of who I am, my academic background, why I chose public health, and what I aim to accomplish in this field.
Education
I am a graduate of the University of Georgia and have received my bachelors in Health promotion in 2026 as well as my public health data fluency certificate from the University of Georgia.
Area of Focus
My area of focus is chronic diseases within the aging population, maternal mortality disparities, and adverse birth outcomes in marginalized communities.
Why I Chose Public Health
I chose Public Health because I believe preventing and managing disease at the population level is just as important as treating it. This belief was shaped in part by the time I lived in Belize, where I witnessed how health challenges can grow and persist in communities without strong public health infrastructure and access to prevention programs. That experience strengthened my commitment to improving health education and expanding access to care. I am especially passionate about epidemiology and women’s health, with a focus on maternal mortality and dementia care. After beginning my academic journey at Georgia College & State University and graduating from the University of Georgia, I remain dedicated to advancing prevention efforts, promoting health education, and developing community-centered programs that improve population health outcomes.
Goals
My goal as a public health professional is to reduce preventable health disparities and strengthen the conditions that allow communities to thrive. By supporting policies and programs that address the broader social and environmental influences on health, I seek to expand opportunities for all individuals to achieve their best possible health.
